"The Father I Never Had"

Sometimes I Sit And Wonder.....
If They'll Ever Bring Him Home....
Nightly, I hear My Mother....
Crying In The Dark...All Alone.
All I know Are Pictures...
They Say Thats He's My Dad.
I was 3....I Can't Remember....
He's The Father I Never Had...
He Left To Do His Duty....
A Very Simple 2 Year tour...
I Sit Here Years Later....
Wondering How Much More?
How Many More Letters....
Is It Really Going To Take?
 Till Our Country Finally Rises....
And Account For Their Mistakes?
Weekly, I Write My Congress...
Asking Why He's Still Gone?
And Beg Them Please....
just Bring My Daddy Home.

POW's Prayer

They Say I'veBeen Forgotten
They Say You No Longer Care?
Even Though They Speak Falsely....
I Do Wonder..Why I'm Still Here.
From The Scratches On The Wall......
I Can See Some Time Has Past....
Maybe They'll Come Tomorrow......
To Take Me  Home At Last.

What Year Is This?
My Hair Is Gray.....
Alone All Day.....
They Say I'm Here Forever.
Forget An American Soldier?
In My Heart I Know...NEVER
Anytime Now.....I'll Hear,
The Jingling Of The Keys......
I Know....My Country Remembers....
Will Come To Rescue Me.....
As Long As Johnson's President....Or Is It Nixon Now?
The Years Just Flow Together...
How Many Have I Counted?
I Can't Remember Now.
Anytime Now.....I'll Hear,
The Jingling Of The Keys......
I Know....My Country Remembers....
Will Come To Rescue Me.....
